Dr. Gary Schummer, Ph.D.
Dr. Schummer's education includes a B.S in Biology from S.U.N.Y. College at Brockport, a M. Div. in Theology from St. Bernard's Seminary, a M.A. and Ph. D. from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles.
He has continued his specialized training in Neuropsychological Research in applications of Neuro-feedback, Post Traumatic Stress, Treatment of Chemical Dependency, Behavioral Medicine and Chronic Pain Treatment.
In addition to his extensive education, he has studied Child and Adolescent Psychology and The Diagnosis and Treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder, and Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Older Adults.
Dr. Schummer has been appointed as Pastoral Counselor for various parishes in the Diocese of Rochester, New York. He has also spent time as the Assistant Pastor for St. Boniface and St. Rita's Parish in New York.
His professional appointments also include Psychological Internships for Andrus Older Adult Center, U.S.C. Gerontology Dept., Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic, Melvyn M. Lewin, Ph.D. Psychological Corporation, A.P.A. Internship in Psychology Service.
He has served as a Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology Research at the V.A. Medical Center, served on the Board of Directors, and been Director of Research for the Sananda Foundation in Beverly Hills, CA.
He continually serves as an Expert Witness and Psychological Consultant for both Defense and Plaintiff appointments also as a Instructor for Fundamentals of QEEG for EEG at Spectrum International, Inc., and is on the Board of Directors at Axios Management Inc.
Dr. Schummer works as a Independent Medical Examiner for the State of California, works at the Attention Deficit Disorder Treatment Centers, and serves on the Defense Committee for the International Society for Neuronal Regulation.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, American Academy of Pain Management, International Society for Neuronal Regulation and the National Attention Deficit Disorder Association.
