Dr. Lidia Zylowska, Ph.D.

Dr. Zylowska is a psychiatrist and a UCLA researcher focusing on mindfulness-based interventions and adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Dr. Zylowska completed her medical training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and her adult psychiatry training at UCLA.

During her residency training, Dr. Zylowska became interested in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and consequently completed a fellowship at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine.

In 2003, Dr. Zylowska was awarded the UCLA Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program Fellowship during which, in collaboration with the UCLA Center for Neurobehavioral Genetics, she developed Mindful Awareness Program (MAP) for ADHD: a meditation-based training in attention self-regulation.

Her current research focuses on the investigation of MAP for ADHD in teens and adults as a model of a self-care / self-regulation in mental health.

Currently Dr. Zylowska is one of the co-founders of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research where she serves as the Associate Director of Professional Education. She is also a member of the UCLA Collaborative Center for Integrative Medicine.

Her study with mindfulness and ADHD was recently featured in the ADDitudes magazine, September 2006 issue.
